I am doing well here in Ghana!! I continue to be in Awe at God's work here in Ghana!
My life here on the ship is ever changing!! God continues to grow me and teach me about myself!
I am working as a Ward Nurse here on the ship, which is a Staff Nurse in the US. I work all shifts including nights which is a change for me. I have not worked the night shift in over five years!! But God is good and I have survived!!!
I work a typical 40 hour work week with rotating shifts from days, evenings, and nights!! All the nurses rotate shifts and we work every other weekend!! We Pray at the beginning and end of each shift! Throughout our shifts we Pray and share the Gospel with our Patients!!!
My typical week here on the ship, as many have asked!!!
We have set meal times at 6:30am, 12noon, and 5pm!!
I have Medical Devotions on Monday and Thrusdays at 7:45am. During these times we have Praise, Worship, Prayer, and a brief speaker/mini study!!
On Tuesday at 7:30am we have a Community Meeting, Praise and Worship time and usually a visiting Pastor will speak!!! Everyone on the ship is expected to come!!
On Wednesday night I attend a Bible study at 7:30pm. There many different studies to chose from and be apart of!!! On Friday mornings at 11am I am part of a Prayer Group for the ship!!!
On Thrusday night we have our church service at 7:30 pm with someone from the ship or a visiting Pastor will deliver the message!!!
On Friday nights is usually Movie night or games!!
On Saturdays their is just too many places to visit: Markets, Waterfalls, Lakes, Cape Coast, Orphanages, Hospitals, Refugee Camps........
On Saturday nights we have a Worship service!!! Just Praises to the Lord!!!
We have on the ship: coffee and gift shop, bank, post office, pool, and typical offices: IT, Human resources, Hospitality, Reception, Community Development, Crew Clinic/Dentist, Ship store, Snack shop. The ship is truly a community itself of about 300 volunteer staff!!!! It is truly Amazing!!!

Stephanie in Ghana- First Orphanage visit
Hello Family and Friends!! Sat. July 2
I am doing well and I Pray that all of you reading are doing well!!
I went today to a Mother Theresa Orphanage! It was truly an experience!! It consisted of women and children with AIDS.
It was difficult to see some of the children that were much older than they looked. Most were 8 or 10 years of age and their bodies would look 4. They were referred to the orphanage by the local hospital for care and housing.
The children were very happy we were their. We were able to play games and cuddle with the younger ones.
Many of them had sad stories- one particular girl was stabbed and beaten by her mother and was left developmentally delayed, blind, and deaf.
The women we were able to Pray with. The sense in the room was darkness and death but with God life entered that room in the name of Jesus!
I just Praise God that we were able to find it and we will going back on a regular basis to take the Love of Jesus Christ and a few needy items!! The language of Jesus trandscends all cultures and languages!!
For His Glory!!

Stephanie in Ghana- First African Church Visit
Hello Family and Friends!!!
Last Sunday was my first African church visit!! It was truly an Awesome experience!
They had a visiting Pastor from Venezula! He was a powerful, anoiting speaker!! The congregation danced, jumped and Prasied the Lord for over an hour!!! We joined in with them and had a Blast Praising the Lord! We waved scarfs in the air! The presence of the Lord was present!! They Yelled to the Lord in Praise and worship and the Spirit came!! Young and old praised and danced before the Lord!!
He spoke from 2Corithians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!! He had a powerful testimony of how God had turned his life over from drugs, alcohol and pulled him away from living with a prostitute for years! It was powerful and it reminded me of how God can redeem your past and bring beauty back to your life!!
The entire service reminded of the past two years of my life and how God has redeemed and healed me from the death of my father and divorce. It is amazing how when you are going through trails in life and you can't see What in the World you are supposed to learn but God uses every opportunity to ministry to us.
For me and the loss of my father was a teachable experience of God knows best and we must trust Him on all occassions!! It was a struggle of anger, pain, and hurt but God delievered me and I have peace knowing that I will one day see my Heavenly and earthly Father again!!
For my divorce, I have learned so much about myself but most of all that I must always have a personal intimate relationship with our Savior no matter the situation you are in!! and to Always seek God and not the World on ALL occassions in life!! Only the Love of Christ can truly heal, restore, and redeem a broken vessel. He is the ulitmate Healer of All time!!!
This Sunday we visited a church for the deaf! They taught us the Alphabet and gave each of us a name in sign language! I had never been to a church for the deaf, so it was a good experience. They embraced us and welcomed us into their service!! It was beautiful to see sign language worship!! No matter the situation you can worship Him!! I Pray healing for the deaf ears to hear!
Blessing to All and I Pray everyone is doing well!!
love

Stephanie in Ghana- Screening Day
Hello Family and Friends!!
I am having a Blast serving our Lord in Ghana!!! I will try my Best to sum up all that has been going on.
This past week we had screening days here in Tema, Ghana at a local church. It was the most amazing experience!!! The days consisted of long lines- over 1000 people showed up. (please take a look at the mercy ships home page. they have a story on our screening day with pictures-www.mercyships.org)
Some of the people had traveled for days and the local church had allowed people to sleep in the church until the screening day.
Let me explain the screening day:
-people line up first come first serve
-they are first seen by nurses and a decision is made if they are allowed to continue in the line
-if they are allowed in the line, a history, physical exam by a physician, labs, before picture, and x-rays are completed
-if they are unable to continue in the line they are escorted out and have the option of being Prayed for
The screening has been the most difficult for me. It was so many people and I could NOT see the end of the line.
I was able to go out into the lines with the Senior nursing staff trying to find the ones with major deformities and/or sickness. It was to many people for us to treat and most of them are in need of basic of medical care, which we are unable to provide. On this outreach, we are doing mainly eye, facial repairs including plastics, and post childbirth injuries.I am in awe at the sickness and the need for physical and spirtual healing. My heart was heavy as I looked out over our sisters and brothers in this line. At times I didn't know what to Pray so I let the Power of the Holy Spirit Pray for me. He knows Best!
I Praise God for the anoiting to touch and lay hands on the sick!! By being amongst the people, I was able to anoint and Pray over many. I know by the Power of God that these individuals were healed in the name of Jesus!!I believe God for miracles and instant healing here in Africa!!! Throughout my quiet time God continues to remind me of spreading His word and showing me the miracles and healing in the New Testament!!!It is here and available to us today!!
I am just in Awe at the experience and the desperation in the eyes of those in the line. I Prayed over the line that I could not even fully see but I know that my God saw it. The ones turned away would cry and say why not?? They felt that we were their last hope and for all that I Prayed for I told them about a Man called Jesus who heals!! I shared the Gospel and Prayed in the Spirit for Healing over each of them!! I reminded each of them you are Healed today and you tell those around you who Jesus is and that He is your Healer- I am only His living vessel!!! I could see that they needed the Hope and although I will never see them again they are Healed in His name!!!
The screening are the just the beginning of this journey that God's has me on!! I have just been in Awe at most times and in amazement that God is using me!
He has given me Isaiah 61 and I will stand on it here in Africa. Please stand with me in Prayer and believe God for Power as in the Day of Pentacost in the Book of Acts. The power and gift is here and available for all!!
I Pray salvation and for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit for anyone unsaved or in need of understanding of the Baptism. Please contact me, a chrisitian friend or local church if you need someone to Pray with you!! Please do not let another day go by without having Jesus Christ as your Savior! He is Life!!!
I love each of You and I Just Praise God for this opportunity!!! I am meeting some amazing and different people from all over the world!! I will catch you up soon with all my new friends!!
For His Glory!!
